For your tee shot, you can usually hit a high-teed 3-wood over the trees down to the landing area. Sometimes you’ll have to work it around the trees, but sometimes you can use a more lofted club to get down there too! It’s better to be short than long off the tee to the layup spot — short shots can bounce off the log and down to safety, where you can still work an approach shot around the side, but long shots eliminate your eagle chance.
