Auburn Glen — Hole #5: Par 5

By • Category: Auburn Glen

First, check if you can blast your drive down straight ahead to the second fairway.  If so, you can end up with a fairly straight approach shot.

Otherwise, you just need to nail the correct layup spot for a shortcut to the right through the trees — it will take a little practice to learn closely enough where it is.  Aim for the left edge of the fairway straight left of the end of the bunker on the right — this should get you close enough to poke your approach shot through there!  Here’s a 7-wood hole-out from that spot.  At the very end of the fairway was a good spot for this 5-wood to a right pin, with a little bank!

Another spot that works is a shorter drive to the front of the sand.  From here, a 5-wood gets over the hill and under the trees as well!  Give this spot a try too.

If you miss your tee shot and can’t cut through the gap, just go out to the next fairway and preserve your birdie.
